Russian Language School "Rodnichok" at the Church "Light to the World"
From the very first day of its existence, the Russian language school at the church "Light to the World" was built on the sincere desire of interested parents to pass on to our children the best of our rich culture. Among us, there were and still are practically no professional teachers of the Russian language and literature. Initially, there was no educational program, but that did not stop us. In the first years, the school was open only to church members, but then, as the small team of the school grew stronger, the doors of the school opened to everyone who wished to join. Today, "Rodnichok" rightfully stands as one of the best schools in Greater Seattle.
In recent years, the school has noticeably grown. Our graduates successfully pass the state exam in the Russian language in public schools (without knowledge of a foreign language, it is impossible to obtain a diploma). The "Rodnichok" program is used by other schools in the USA. The staff of the school (members of the church "Light to the World") has been joined by the parents of our students, forming a friendly team of sincere workers and earning respect in the Russian-speaking community of Washington State.
We have textbooks that we use in school. We have textbooks with homework that students complete at home. We have tests, dictations, morning performances, and much more — everything just like in a regular school. Thank God that we have parents who understand how invaluable their help and effort are in sowing good and eternal. If you have the desire to learn, to rejoice in the first word you read, to work and live while helping children, we will be happy to serve alongside you.
